Andrew Ehinger is an Emmy
Award winning television reporter and anchor with more than two decades of
experience in front of the camera. Currently he is the technology and consumer investigations reporter
for News 12 Long Island in Woodbury,
New York. His weekly technology series "The Download" is the only story to be seen on six of the seven News 12 Network stations.
Past television news
directors have called Andrew's style unique, engaging and informative. His
energetic personality, especially when reporting live from the field, has a way of
grabbing the viewer's attention and holding it through the entire report.
"I once heard a well respected reporter say" Andrew notes, "'you
want to make the viewer look up from cutting carrots for dinner to watch your
story.' I loved that analogy and strive every day to wake viewers up with
something they're going to want to watch."
In 2011 Andrew was honored with his eighth New York Emmy nomination in the On-Camera Talent: Specialty Assignment category for "The Download." He also received another Emmy nomination in The Community Affairs category. In 2001 Andrew won a New York Emmy in the Business and Consumer category for an undercover
investigation of full service gas stations ripping off customers on Long Island.
In addition Andrew was one of only six New York
television reporters honored for their work on and after September 11th
by the New York Press Club.
Andrew won the "NYPC Attack on America 9/11 Best Continuing
Coverage Award" in 2002. The judges praised him for his multi-part series,
"Eyes in the Sky" an inside look at NATO's historic roll in
protecting the skies over New York City and America immediately after 9/11.
